Size & Fit Guide

Choosing the right size helps keep your dog comfy, warm, and happy on every walk. Use this simple guide to measure your dog and find the best fit for their new Nordpup coat or jumper.

How to Measure Your Dog

You’ll need a soft tape measure (or a piece of string and a ruler).

Neck - Measure around the base of the neck where a collar would sit. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight.

Chest (Girth) - Measure the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.  This is the most important measurement for a good fit.

Back Length -Measure from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail. Ask your dog to stand up straight for the most accurate measurement.

You have back length twice, and the end of the arrow is under the neck tap ewhich is no good
Tip: If your dog is very fluffy, measure a little more loosely to allow for their coat.

Finding the Right Size

Each product page includes a size chart. Once you have your dog’s measurements:
  • Match your dog’s chest measurement first.
  • Then check back length and neck to make sure they’re within the size range.
If your dog is between two sizes, we usually recommend choosing the larger size for extra comfort and layering.

How Should a Dog Coat Fit?

A good fit should:
  • Sit snug but not tight around the chest
  • Allow your dog to walk, run, and sit comfortably
  • Cover the back without hanging over the tail
  • Not rub under the front legs or around the neck
If you can fit two fingers between the coat and your dog’s body, that’s usually just right.

What If I Order the Wrong Size?

Don’t worry – it happens!
  • If the coat doesn’t fit, you can return or exchange it within our returns window (see our Returns Policy for full details).
  • The coat should be clean, unused, and with tags attached.
